Sadness

Today I found out that one my close friends has breast cancer. I'm sad and not sure how to handle this. I know that technology and healthcare are great now but I'm scared for her. I've never known anyone with cancer and I'm scared too see what will happened to her through this long journey she has ahead. I will pray for her and hope for the best. With that I will update my blog when I have good news... I am just in shock.

It's only tuesday...

Well today is Tuesday and I'm feeling pretty exhausted. I guess working 7 days straight will do that to you. The winery definitely hurts my feet, think I'll have to buy an ugly pair of comfy shoes. Sunday was pretty slow considering how nice it was outside, I did so so in tips. Next time I will do better! Yesterday and today were very quiet at work. Census is somewhat under control and Eileen (my executive) was out. She is back tomorrow and I'm sure will have a lot of things for me to. Haven't gotten to see grandpa this week but I'm going to go see him tomorrow.

I got a Blackberry! It is sooo cool, I can do everything on it. I have no clue how to use the darn thing but I'm working on it. I'll have to read the manual one day : ) Well off to class I go...

It's Been a Busy Saturday

Today's is Saturday and I just got home from my parents. Yesterday, I went to work and did my eight hours. I went to see grandpa (he's in a nursing home now); he was in good spirits; which makes me happy because he can be kind of cranky. I came home and went to dinner with two of my most favorite people in the world, Rachel and Pete! We went to Bangkok Cafe in downtown f'burg. It's a tai place and it was great; I love downtown. I swear one day I will live there! Today, I woke up, went to the gym (YAY me!), got ready and then went to work at the winery for a couple of hours. It's was my first official day by myself and I handled it well. Just so you all know, it's best to leave cash as a tip. For all the tips I receive on the credit cards today, I have to wait for my paycheck. I made $7 dollars in cash and didn't do to bad with my other tips. I got off work and then went to see my dad because momma is visiting Aunt Marchie. Thankfully, I got to their house right before dinner was ready. So daddy, sugar (the dog), and me ate chicken and mashed potato's. I then fell asleep on the couch, like I usually do when I go to their house, and came home. So it's Saturday night and my night will consist of studying Anatomy and maybe eating some ice cream.

Right now in my life, I'm pretty busy (what's new right). I am taking 2 classes, have a fulltime job (MWH) and a part time job (winery). I'm four classes away from starting my bachelors degree; it's taken me a long time but it will be well worth it in the end. My position at the hospital is doing good; I've definitely grown in the last year and can't wait to see where I go.

My First Entry

Well it's 10:07pm and I just returned from my Thursday night class. I must say that usually at this time I am alseep, however, when I get home from class I can't sleep and stay up until midnight just to get up early to go to work. Anyway, I've started this blog to keep my friends and family up to date on my life. I'm not much of a phone person, so this way you'll know what is going on in the "Life of Ashlea"
